Presynaptic mechanisms contribute to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced suppression of GABAergic synaptic activities. Shown is the GABAergic miniature inhibitory postsynaptic currents (mIPSCs) recorded with a recording pipette filled with the intracellular solution containing the protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor (PKCI 19–30, 5 μM) at baseline, during and after washout of LPS (1 μg/ml).
