cFMS inhibition alters the frequency of CD16 + CD163 + rhesus macaque monocytes in vitro . An increase in the frequency of CD163+ and CD16+CD163+ was observed with IL-34 (B) but not M-CSF treatment (A), as compared to PBMC cultured in the presence of media only. Interestingly, the frequencies of these monocyte subsets were reduced by the addition of the tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), GW2580, which may reflect inhibition of endogenous M-CSF and/or IL-34 activity in the culture. The frequency of IL-10+ monocytes was high, regardless of treatment.
