Severe DRG pathology was correlated to a greater loss of IENFD. Lumbar DRG (LDRG) pathology was scored on a scale of 1.0 (mild) to 3.0 (severe). IENFD was measured at pre-infection and necropsy, and the percent change was calculated by dividing the difference in IENFD from pre-infection to necropsy by the pre-infection value and multiplying by 100. Percent change of IENFD was correlated to LDRG pathology using a Spearman correlation test. p < 0.05, r = −0.66
