Pro/anti-inflammatory cytokine median log ratios (IL-1β/IL-10, IL-4/IL-10, IL-6/IL-10, IL-8/IL-10 and TNF-α/IL-10) are compared between the NT and HT groups from baseline to 48 h. All ratios were found to have positively skewed distributions, and thus, logs were calculated followed by ANOVA. For IL-1β/IL-10, IL-4/IL-10, IL-8/IL-10, there was a switch to a pro-inflammatory profile from 36 h; there was a switch to a pro-inflammatory profile from 24 h for IL-6/IL-10. For log TNF-α /IL-10, there was a switch from a pro-inflammatory state to neutral from 12 h after HI during HT. *p < 0.05.
