Treatment with CSF1R inhibitor PLX5622 depletes microglia from the brains of mice. C57BL/6J mice received chow containing 1200 mg/kg PLX5622 for 3 weeks. a RT-PCR on whole brain mRNA showed a 94% reduction in Iba1 mRNA, indicating substantial depletion of microglia.
