Neurological function measured by BBB locomotion scores from 0 to 30 days after SCI. In general, functional recovery gradually improved both in HSYA and control groups from day 2 after SCI. During the whole experimental period (except for the first 2 days), HSYA-treated group showed significantly better function in comparison with the control group. In the sham group, neurological functions of rats were slightly damaged but were all restored quickly within 7 days. (n = 18 in each group, ▲P > 0.05; *P < 0.05; #P < 0.01, HSYA vs. Control group)
