Effect of hydralazine on hippocampal gliosis induced by Ang II. Relative fluorescence intensity units (RFU) of Iba-1 (a) and GFAP (b) in the hippocampus after 1 week systemic perfusion of Ang II 1000 ng/kg/min or 0.9% saline (CTL). Hydralazine (150 mg/L) was administered in the drinking water starting 3 days before minipump implantation. Animals in the vehicle group received regular drinking water. In each experiment, a treated-to-control ratio was calculated (*p < 0.05 Ang II 1000 + vehicle versus control + vehicle; §p ≤ 0.05 Ang II 1000 + Hyd versus Ang II 1000 + vehicle, by two-way ANOVA with Tukey post-test, n = 3–8).
