Microglia/macrophages proliferation and neutrophils infiltration upon LPS challenge in the absence or presence of PLX5622. No immunoreactivity of the proliferation marker Ki67 was detected in the control retinas (a). Ki67 was co-localized with GFP in retinas of LPS-challenged control-fed (b) or PLX-fed mice (c). The neutrophil marker myeloperoxidase (MPO) was absent from the retina and choroid of unchallenged mice (d). In LPS-challenged mice, MPO was detected into the retina and choroid (e), while in the PLX5622-fed LPS-challenged mice MPO was detected in the choroid (f) but not into the retina.
