Impact of poly(I:C) on immunocompetent wt animals at early infection. Bacterial concentrations were reduced in wild-type mice (n = 9–10/group) pre-treated with 200 μg poly(I:C) compared with vehicle-treated animals 22 h after infection in the a cerebellum homogenates (P = 0.0006), but not in the b spleen homogenates (P = 0.11) and c blood (P = 0.079).
