From: Neuroprotective effects of GSK-343 in an in vivo model of MPTP-induced nigrostriatal degeneration
GSK-343 treatment modulated apoptosis after MPTP injection. Brain tissue of MPTP-injected mice revealed an increase of expression levels of BAX and p53, and diminished levels of Bcl-2, compared to the Sham animals. GSK-343 treatments demonstrated a significant reduction in BAX and p53 levels and increased Bcl2 levels (A–C; densitometric analysis A1, B1, C1).
