Target gene expression was quantified by real-time qPCR, normalized to a stable reference gene (Ywhaz) then expressed relative to the control group average (sham saline). Iba1 expression (a, b) was increased due to LPS treatment only in the contralateral side. Gfap expression (c, d) trended towards a non-significant increase due to LPS.
