A Tissue from the putamen and visual cortex from 4 patient brains affected by multiple system atrophy (MSA) patients and 4 brains of healthy age-matched controls were extracted, resolved by SDS-page, and analyzed by immunoblotting for the presence of C1q and β-actin. Purified C1q was included as a positive control. B C1q and β-actin bands were quantified by densitometry using ImageJ and displayed as the ratio between the two.
